CHELA

Chendamangalam Heritage of Excellence in Looms and Artisanship

The largest heritage and small scale industry of Ernakulam district has been in the news for the constant onslaught of natural perils and a rapidly changing economic and technical world that has left behind the looms in the past. Caught in a timewarp, Chendamangalam is ready for a makeover.

Chela is a unique project where Folklogue will work under the authorisation of Circle Cooperative Union at Paravur District, in the initial stages to create a comprehensive plan for all the weaving units at Chendamangalam. This project is aimed at heralding a revival of an economically viable product and region in Chendamangalam Kaithari that meets the needs and addresses the concerns of the weavers, creates a superior product, and positively impacts the region at large.

Wild Blossoms Society

Hill Zone Tourism

Registered as a society in 2007, and located in Maatupetty, Munnar, Wild Blossoms Society works towards the empowerment and advocacy of farmers and Adivasi communities in the region.

Folklogue associates with Wild Blossom Tourism Society as a Responsible Tourism partner. Identifying and developing the destinations and communities in a sustainable and resilient manner. By adhering to the environmental policies that help foster an ecologically sound tourism development plan for an environmentally sensitive destination, Folklogue works as a facilitator and collaborator for our work partners.
